Prof. dr hab. Teresa Dąbrowska

Editor of "Wiadomości Archeologiczne" since 1975, she passed away on 19 October 2020. She taught entire generations of the journal's editors and was an uparallelled role model to many of us.
She will be sorely missed.

Change in papers submission process

“Wiadomości Archeologiczne” is the oldest Polish periodical of archaeology, established in 1873, from 1929 being an official journal of the State Archaeological Museum in Warsaw, published annually. “Wiadomości Archeologiczne” is a peer-reviewed journal.

“Wiadomości Archeologiczne” presents papers and contributions focused on archaeology of Poland and Central Europe grouped under four general headings: Essays, Miscellanea, Materials and Discoveries.

The journal is published in Polish, with summaries in English, sometimes also in the language corresponding to the subject matter of a given paper.

Starting with volume LXX, individual papers are also available at http://www.journalssystem.com/warch/ in open access, under the terms of Creative Commons CC BY-NC 3.0 PL license

“Wiadomości Archeologiczne” is listed on the European Reference Index for the Humanities (ERIH+), The Central European Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (CEJSH)and in the ICI Journals Master List (Index Copernicus). Starting from Volume 62 (2011) summaries of published papers are available from the CEJSH website.

The primary version of “Wiadomości Archeologiczne” is its paper edition.
